Care homes Summer Fete brings local community together
Our NorseCare home, The Meadows, opened its doors and welcomed the community as they held their first summer fete since the pandemic.
On the 20 August, there was fun for all the family with a wide range of stalls and ice creams, with residents, staff and relatives offering up their time.
The community came together, with approximately 250 people attending the special Summer Fete. Many donated prizes to the raffle with family, staff and other businesses like R J Carters and Saffron Housing. It was a sight to behold, with everyone keen to play a part in helping residents.
Tenants raised an eye-watering £1353,67, which will go into their amenity fund. The Meadows tenants will now decide how to spend their hard-earned funds.
Emma Smith, Acting Manager of The Meadows, said, “It was a truly glorious sight to behold, seeing such wonderful community spirt, everyone coming together to share in such a special occasion. The atmosphere was just incredible.
I am so proud of all the hard work and the dedication the team and tenants put into making our fete such a success. Words cannot begin to describe how thankful we are for all the support we received; we cannot wait to open our doors again at our next Christmas fair.”

Tenant Maureen Williams, said “The fete was the best one we have ever had. It has been such a long time since we have been able to all let our hair down and have some fun with our families and friends.
Sus Johnson said “It was an amazing turn out, music was brilliant, we all danced, it was fab. The stalls were good, loads of choice and lovely gifts to buy. Food was great and the weather was grand, we were even treated to an ice-cream or two.”
Debbie Flaxman also a tenant at the Meadows said “The best thing was seeing all the little children running around having fun, it was a really lovely family feel. The staff did a brilliant job, everything ran so smoothly. We cannot wait till our next Christmas fete.”
