Mountfield on track for January opening

As the need for specialist dementia care continues to rise in Norfolk, we are making great progress with the re-development of Mountfield care home on Millcroft, off St Clement’s Hill in Norwich.

The home, which will provide full-time and short-term specialist care and support for up to 46 people living with dementia, is expected to open on Thursday 2nd January 2020. Residents will be able to enjoy their own large ensuite bedroom, communal living areas, dining rooms, a hairdressing salon and secluded, landscaped gardens. A full activities and wellbeing programme will be on offer, designed around the personal preferences of the residents. The home will be fully equipped with Wi-Fi, and carers will use tablet technology and Amazon Echo devices as part of the overall care support package.

Tracy Saunders, our new registered manager at Mountfield, has worked in the care sector for over 10 years, and has been a home manager with NorseCare for nearly five years. She is really looking forward to the opening of the home: “I strongly believe in creating a home where people can maintain their independence, feel safe and secure, and feel supported to make their own choices. I am excited about creating Mountfield as a home for the residents, their families and friends, and staff alike.”

Open days are planned to take place at the home in December.
