NorseCare take part in Norwich Pride
As a caring organisation, we strongly believe in being open and understanding in conversation and our actions with any person that we meet. We already know that a lot of people who live with us might identify as LGBT, but not feel as empowered as many people do today because of the historical context. We also know that many of our staff, families, friends and visitors identify as LGBT. By taking part in Norwich Pride, we have taken a small step in empowering them and later in the year, as part of a quality working group, we will be exploring how we can develop and improve our care and support for people who identify as LGBT+.
Carla Binns, who organised NorseCare’s involvement on the day, expressed her thanks: “I couldn’t be more proud of my colleagues and their families who attended and showed their support, it really meant a lot to me. People march for many different reasons, for a loved one, a friend, a neighbour, themselves and their residents. As a company we strive for equality, diversity, and do not discriminate against anyone’s colour, race, religion, gender, orientation, ethnicity or creed. I am very proud knowing that I work for a company who supports these values. Next year we plan to be bigger than ever. I look forward to seeing you all at the next Pride. Happy Pride everyone!”
