Visiting policy – Thursday 15th October 2020

We are committed to trying to ensure that visiting can take place in our homes and in housing with care schemes in a way that is safe. We see this as an integral part of a person’s wellbeing.

We are also doing everything we can to help people keep in touch with their loved ones via the use of technology such as video calling.

What is the current situation?

You may have seen media coverage about how care providers are enabling visiting to take place within the guidelines provided by the Government and Public Health England.

Our care homes
We are currently able to offer both external and internal visits to residents in our homes using the guidance provided by the Government and Public Health England. These visits are facilitated in such a way that we consider the significant vulnerability of all residents living within care homes, the specific circumstances of the individual care setting and local conditions.

Housing with care schemes
Specific guidance has been provided by the Government for tenants living in housing with care schemes. We have engaged with the registered social landlords who own the schemes and devised a visiting policy based on government advice.

Other visits may also be available in exceptional circumstances.

We will need to suspend visiting in the event of any suspected or actual outbreak of COVID-19 at an individual home or scheme, in the event that the local authority Director of Public Health announces local restrictions, or if NorseCare as a company believes risks have increased and it is necessary to pause visiting arrangements.

To find out more details, please contact the home or scheme who will provide specific arrangements for their home or scheme.
